Trainer Stuart Williams is a master trainer and should be followed when there is any support for one of the runners from his yard and this could be the case at Yarmouth this afternoon where we fancy the unexposed three year old Lalania to run a big race in the 3:50 contest and could look a big price at the 100/30 come the off.
She was a winner over course and distance back in May, so will have no problems with conditions and has ran with credit in some hot handicap contests since. This doesnt look the most competitive of races and with Williams adding the headgear for the first time it could bring the required improvement to see her get back to winning ways. She was sent off 13/8 fav for a Newmarket race from the same mark – the race won by Nampara which is a strong form line and the yard clearly think she is potentially well handicapped and this looks like a good piece of placing by the trainer.
Most of the others look very much of a muchness, you could make a case for La Fortuna, but to be honest this is a lot easier than Lalania has been facing before and if back to form should take the beating and the 100/30 currently on offer looks fair value.
